Fulton’s Neighborhood Resource Center’s fundraising 5k/10k Rocketts Landing Run to the River will wind through Fulton, Montrose, and up onto Libby Hill this coming Saturday. Want to help out? You can donate directly or sponsor a runner.
No matter how large or small the donation, every dollar counts. All proceeds directly support programs and resources at the Neighborhood Resource Center:
$10 provides support materials for one week of after-school tutoring
$25 buys supplies for one preschool art activity
$50 pays for three hours of GED classes (48% of adults in Greater Fulton don’t possess a high school diploma)
Or sign up for the run or walk! The event happens thhis Saturday, Oct 16, 9:30 am. For runners, it’s a really fun course with three hills and lots of different terrain. If you like a cross country style race, this is the event for you. The race goes right through Libby Hill Park, so if you’re at the big yard sale that morning, cheer some runners on.
The 5K walk is an easy stroll through some interesting neighborhoods, including Montrose Heights, Fulton and Rocketts Landing. Everyone is invited to the Neighborhood Resource Center afterwards for the Finish Line Party – we’ll have live music, homemade foods (made in our very own organic kitchen) and tours of the center so you can learn about our after-school programs, Montessori Preschool, and our classes for adults.
