Times Dispatch has story too. MLK, Fairfield and Woodville locked down according to them but parents can pick up kids. Buses on hold supposedly.
Richmond Police detectives have arrested one man and are seeking another following a shooting incident in the 19 hundred block of Raven St.
Ernest Lee, 26, 19-hundred block of Raven St. was taken into custody shortly after the shooting. Lee has been charged with shooting into an occupied building, a felony.
Devon Antwann Coles, 22, 19-hundred block of Raven St. is being sought by police for his involvement in the same incident. When he is caught, Coles will be charged with attempted murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, all felonies.
At 10:31 a.m., officers responded to a call of shots-fired in the 19-hundred block of Raven St. They quickly determined there had been an exchange of gunfire between the two men. Lee was taken into custody but Coles refused to leave his residence. The SWAT unit was activated and, after repeated attempts to establish contact with Coles, entered his residence by breaching the front door. After a thorough search of the building, it was determined that Coles was no longer present.
Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Devon Antwann Coles is asked to call the Richmond Police Tip Line at 514-TIPS (8477) or Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.

Why would anyone live in this area once they have a child? And what came first – those clearly problemmatic apartments, or the school? Ugh, it doesn’t matter – living here is just plain dangerous.
What fine young men…upstanding citizens. Sad!
I will never understand why people living in the projects choose to have children. The projects are not suitable for adults, why would anyone think it is okay to bring a child into this world while living there? The projects were intended to serve as temporary shelter for those in need, until they could get on their feet. If they can not get on their feet without kids, how on earth do they think they can advance with kids? I guess the problem is that they just don’t, or are unable, to think clearly. So sad for the children.
If they are intended for people to get on their feet, then there should be a time limit on how long they can stay.
