A unique real estate opportunity on Marshall via Craigslist:
3 bedroom brick historic home. Gutted and ready for renovation. $19,500 or Best Reasonable Offer. Inspection Saturday and Sunday 12-4. Home will be sold Sunday night to highest bidder
That block needs alot of work-but this is a start.
I lived next door to this place in’95. it was boarded up then. Good luck…i’ll offer $12,000.
who’s going to go first? that’s the question here. You can get a great deal on this house and fix it up beautifully. But you can’t ignore the nasty neighborhood that surrounds it. This might require a larger development effort like tackling the entire block.
You are correct Laura. I walk my dog around there and it’s always the same people standing around drinking beer in broad daylight. Then you have three buildings for religious gatherings, where some of the worst singing can be heard, and you follow that with Friday’s Islamic preaching that is blasted with outdoor speakers, so that the whole neighborhood can hear it. This block has been such an eyesore for years, and I really don’t think it’s going to change anytime soon.
Does anyone know if this house was actually purchased?
No…They didn’t get enough people interested in it to go to auction.
I wonder if the city finally came down on the owners. The same 4 sale sign has been on that property for atleast a couple of years now.
They just changed the price on the MLS to $45,000.
I actually enjoy the church singing and the broadcasts from the mosque, but I haven’t lived on Chimborazo for years. When I did live there, I felt like it was part of the appeal.
