Two found cats?
10/31/2010 8:22 AM by John M
Nichole at (804)222-3134 has found a cat:
I feed a colony of feral cats at my house on Chimborazo, and a domesticated, unneutered male orange tabby showed up tonight. Looks like he’s been outside for a long time because he’s fairly dirty. Skinny, very hungry, but extremely sweet.
Terri at tjsmither@gmail.com/(804)267-1662 has this one:
Black female cat showed up on our porch in the 300 block of N 29th Street. How can I get this message out to the neighbors in case someone is looking for her. She’s very sweet.
TAGGED: pets
We saw the new ginger kitty last week, too. He seems much more willing to be around humans than the usuals. He’s had his initiation into the group, though…we were woken up by some street wars between them the other morning.
Could it be Moscow?
Please post photos.
#2 Juliellen, WOW, I had totally forgotten about Moscow. Who were his people, and their contact information? Maybe someone should alert them that he may have taken up residence with some ferals to get fed? The phone number to contact Nicole is listed up above in the headline, I just don’t remember Moscow’s contact information except that they lived way down off Broad, which would not be that big a trip to end up off Chimborazo.
Hey, guys! Thanks so much for your responses! It’s not Moscow. The first thing I did when I met this sweet, orange cat is check CHPN for old posts on missing cats. I called Moscow’s owner immediately, who confirmed that Moscow is neutered. This male definitely is not. I was so excited for a few seconds, thinking there would be a long-awaited reunion…
The feral cats aren’t crazy about him (probably because he’s not neutered – I spay/neuter all the stray cats @ Chimbo & Marshall) and aren’t inclined to share their food, so I’ve been feeding him separately on the porch. He constantly tries to come in the house. I called Church Hill Animal Hospital yesterday to create awareness in case his owner calls looking for him. If I don’t find an owner in a few days, I’ll take him to get neutered, and get a check-up, and see about getting him adopted. He does not belong on the streets, and he definitely wants to be a part of a family.
I’ll post a pic (he looks exactly like Morris the cat and Moscow, but he’s pretty small; likely a teenager) and hopefully someone will want to adopt this sweet boy. We already have 2 Siamese in a small house, so we don’t have room for this fella.
