Is this your orange cat?

Is this your cat? It’s been wandering around between Fairmount and R street, around the 2300 block. It seems lost, it’s very friendly and hungry. We already have cats, so we can’t keep it here, but reply if it’s yours, maybe I can hold it for you the next time it comes around?
Someone is missing this cat. May I suggest calling Church Hill Animal Hospital to see if they have any lost reports on a cat matching his description. You can also leave a found report. Would be happy to help out with food and can offer a carrier if you care to give him a shelter on your porch. Email me at cpandmg2@verizon.net
Might also try taking it to Church Hill Animal hospital to see if it’s microchipped. Couple of years ago, I thought I had a stray former pet cat on my block, took it to CH Animal, went back to visit it and found it had had a microchip, owners had been called and had picked it up.
Problem with shelters is that the SPCA is often full. There may be others, though.
Nice cat. This is why cats ought to be kept indoors.
It looks very pretty with its flowing locks of orange fur:)
crd, Just to clarify. . . The SPCA doesn’t take strays like this kitty.
All strays and unwanted dogs and cats go to the City’s Dept. of Animal Care and Control(the “pound” on Chamberlayne, in the old SPCA building).
The SPCA then comes and pulls “adoptable” cats and dogs to house in their “no kill” shelter.
What a great orange boy!!
Forgot to include two other places for posting found reports and checking lost reports: Craig’s List and Petfinder.com. Is cat still around?
No, at this point, I haven’t seen the cat in a few days. Hopefully it was found by its owner! Thanks for the responses, though. If it comes back around I’ll at least take it by the Church Hill Animal Hospital to get it checked out and see if it has a microchip.
Kevin – let me know if he returns as I would like to help find him a home. My email is in the first post. Thanks.
