Good place to donate coats?
12/05/2010 2:55 PM by John M
Kristin is looking for a good place to donate some coats:
I’m looking for a good place to give 4 used winter warm coats to. I’m taking a bunch of clothes to the thrift store, but would like to see the coats end up in the hands of someone that needs them for free. I’d prefer a local (Church Hill area) group.
TAGGED: question
There is a place on Jefferson Avenue, west of 25th street I believe. Forget the name, but they take clothing donations.
check with several of the churchs.
The Family Resource Center is the organization that “g” mentions above, at 2405 Jefferson Ave (corner of Jefferson and N 24th St.) They have a “Clothing Pantry” where folks who need clothes may choose what they need free of charge. Donations are always appreciated and they offer a receipt for tax purposes.
If your willing to go outside Church Hill, consider Frogs Place at 2 East Broad Street. They have pretty extensive services for the homeless.
