A few more of Tim Lamb’s fantastic drawings: his version of this house on Venable Street, that half-house on the 800 block of 24th Street, and two more that I can’t place.
TAGGED: Tim Lamb
608 N 21st is really close to that first mystery house (down to the power pole) but some of the details aren’t quite right…
Love it!
2500 Block of “O” St. Tried to get several of the owners to sell them to me, but i think they’re all holding out for demolition by neglect.
2517 “O” looks like a match. I wish the city GIS would let you “walk” like google maps does!
@ #3 – That’s really unfortunate. I think a few are occupied but some are clearly vacant. They have TONS of potential, especially the vacant storefront building at the corner of 26th and O.
The cost of restoring many of these structures continues to go up; with the City adding costs w/fees for “refuse & weeds” etc. including a $100 “administrative fee”. And now requiring lead abatement measures w/special permits. This was a challenging area already w/o the City throwing up more hurdles to jump over to stabilize a property until such time the Banks will lend on properties in high risk neighborhoods. Which they don’t show any inclination to do any time soon!
