Tricycle Gardens makes Church Hill Orchard a reality
03/27/2011 2:10 PM by John M
Tricycle Gardens’ first urban orchard became a reality on Saturday when volunteers got together and planted pears, cherries, pawpaws, plums and more in the empty lot at 1626 North 27th Street.
We’ll be having a couple more workdays this spring to mulch around the trees, interplant lavender, rosemary and other plants and put in an apiary. Plus there will be two more orchard sites to build this spring on the Hill. Thanks to the volunteers. They made it an awesome project.
please post when you need help. I’d love to contribute labor. Orchards in the neighborhood – wonderful.
Awesome!! I am going to plant some fruit trees around my house this week. Thanks for the inspiration!!
