What happened at Chimbo?!?
04/05/2011 11:37 PM by John M
Okay, no fewer than 11 marked and one unmarked just went screaming down East Broad…they seem to have congregated at the round house at the far end of Chimbo Park…and I hear more coming. Anybody know what’s up??
TAGGED: crime
I almost got hit by one on my way home from work. A couple went down the dog park road by accident then floored it back up the hill in reverse. I would have gone to investigate (legally) but I was just at work for 12 hours.
I witnessed the start of a police pursuit at 25th and Marshall around 9pm. Related?
Lt.Laino says
🙂 Nice to have the official word–thanks for thinking of checking with Lt. Laino. We were just getting in too and watched a couple of cars narrowly miss being hit. Can’t wait to hear what our suspect did to warrant all that attention. Thomas, would have been about the right time, I think.
Counting unmarked cars, there must have been nearly 20 units responding to Chimbo last night. The speed they were traveling on Broad was ridiculous; wide open from 32nd st to the curve onto government, some with lights and sirens; some without. So much for a responsible pursuit policy.
The person being chased painted their front door a color that was not on the Architectural Review Board list of official historical colors. Hence the chase.
#6 Too funny!
#6 – Thanks so much for the laugh!! Very funny!!
“The driver fled on foot and was apprehended by the dog park.”
Really? That’s one amazing dog park! What technique did the park employ to apprehend the driver? Did anyone capture this on film?
