Under the Radar: 417 North 33rd Street
05/05/2011 7:05 AM by John M
The Historic Richmond Foundations’s weekly Under the Radar spotlights 417 North 33rd Street in the Oakwood-Chimborazo National Historic District. This is one of the Donald Lacey/Stacey Martin houses.
416 and 417: Twin green disasters. I’m sure this one is just a shell.
Per my roommate: this house was torn down today.
Thanks Tess!

Now, can they please do the same to the one on the 800 block of 24th. It is a haven for illicit behavior.
I’ve got a house next to me that I need to find out who owns it. The windows aren’t boarded up, so there’s broken glass everywhere, and rats coming and going through them. That’s got to be a health hazard, right? I’m going to be going down to City Hall to see if I can find out who owns it and contact them about the nuisance that’s been growing for months now.
Is there an easy way to find out who owns a house online? Going down to City Hall with three small children or during my work week, simply isn’t an option.
Use the below link to the City Assessor’s search engine.

Type in the house number then the street name. If it is a N,S,E, or W it will give you a choice in a dropdown then select and run. It will give you all the information on the property – owner and their address, value, transfers, etc…
Thank you! Found it!

Now, I’m new to this…so bare with me. What do I do to report this? This house has been abandoned for FAR too long.
Okay. Twist. Is this the same person who owned this property?

Okay, since I’m on a mini-rampage this evening.
Please go to this link and “Vote” to have this problem fixed.

The See-Click-Fix is pretty good.
You’ll also want to go to MPAC/CAPS meeting this Wednesday. You’ll be able to talk to the people that handle vacants and code violation stuff for the city.
Thanks John. Those meetings are so hard to make it to, as I said with three little ones. I’ll try to see if either the husband or myself can make it out.
Well, they were out to fix my street light issue tonight…just a mere couple of days after I put it in.
Unfortunately, they left without fixing the front one (I’m assuming a bigger problem) and they never even tried the one in the ally.
Teresa, there are City Inspectors that will come out to look at a property that is reported. They have districts, so I don’t know where this house is, or who in the City is responsible. Call Antoni (no “H”) 646-4356 & he can help direct you to the right person. Then all you have to do is give the address & someone will come out & site the property owner. You don’t have to go anywhere!
