Neighbors on North 26th St. in Church Hill say a vacant home on their street is hurting their bottom line. They say the eyesore is making it almost impossible to rent or sell homes on their street.

Newbille said the owners are paying a FEE for a vacant house? Can anyone contribute to this about said “fee”?
I could be wrong but I believe the fee the story refers to is the vacant property fee which is only $25 a year.

If this is true, why the city allows a boarded house to sit there as a eyesore and a safety concern for a measly $25 a year is beyond me. You would think in a city with so much blight, something might be done with the housing codes to discourage this sort of a thing from happening so often.
