Officer foils Church’s Chicken stick up, cab driver robbed in Mosby
07/28/2011 8:36 AM by John M
The officer entered Church’s Chicken in the 1900 block of Mechanicsville Turnpike about 9:10 p.m. at the same time the manager stood with his hands in the air in front of a man with handgun, police said today. […] Also on Wednesday, a woman robbed a Yellow Cab driver as he was taking her from downtown Richmond to Mosby Court in the East End just after 10 p.m.
Typical Richmond PD. The only time they can stop a crime is when they stumble across it on their way to eat…
As for all the rest of the crimes in the area, they are just too busy writing parking tickets to care.
Hey Alex, the next time someone breaks into your house, call the guy that was doing the robbery. Oh, that’s right! He’s in jail! If you don’t like the way the police do their work then talk to the commander at First Precinct. Bashing the cops on chpn.com just seems, I don’t know, childish and petty.
I think the cops in the hood are very on point except for driving excessivly fast at times.
Alex has done a lot of cop bashing lately and it is getting a little tiresome. Alex, RPD has a ride-along program. Why don’t you contact the 1st precinct lieutenant and ask about riding with one of our men or women in blue? I think you will see what it is they do on their watch.
Hey Alex – Last week I saw an unfamiliar man in my neighbors yard through my window. I thought nothing of it initally, figuring he was there to do some landscaping. No more than 5 minutes later RPD officers were in my neighbors backyard. Turns out the guy tripped the security alarm trying to force his way through the back door. Guess what? They caught the sucker. Thumbs up for the RPD.
Maybe I’m missing something but the reason for my frustration is that I’ve seen dozens of stories on increasingly bold criminal acts in recent weeks but nothing on arresting the scumbags responsible. If the cops are doing a “good job” (which I assume means catching some of these creeps) please show me some of those stories.
Right now I’m just venting because I’m frustrated because it seems like there’s a lot of scumbags walking free and making life on the hill less safe.
Fair enough, Alex. Thanks for helping us understand where you’re coming from.
