In the month of July, we had a 40% increase in violent crimes and a 4% decrease in property crimes. The violent crime increase was driven by robberies and aggravated assaults. We have made arrests in two of the robberies and have information for potential suspects in the others. All of the aggravated assaults have been cleared and were perpetrated by known parties. B & E’s are still up, as well as thefts from buildings. Copper is still a hot commodity, as well as air conditioner units. Vacant homes are the most vulnerable and we need your help to identify anyone you see who does not belong on these properties.
