Foodspotting Church Hill
08/21/2011 11:46 AM by John M
Foodspotting is a site that “helps you decide what to eat, not just where, by enabling you to find whatever you’re craving, see what’s good at a particular restaurant and discover the best foods around you wherever you go.” See what Church Hill and Richmond have to offer and then share your own…
Here are the local eateries that I could find with entries. Add more in the comments if you’ve got’em.

Hill Cafe is absent – any particular reason? Or just by accident? Not that I think it’s that great, but hey it’s smack dab in the area and has been here longer than Buffingtons’s. Speaking of which, there’s a new sign up calling it ‘Buff’s’ and something about salads and soups, but when I stopped to actually read the menu, it’s the same old thing of pizza with cheddar, fries, and hotdogs.
It’s community generated. Just means that nobody has put something up from there. Take it as challenge 🙂
Two I’d add:
Azisa’s Pizza — the best in town, better than MammaZu, way better than Bottom’s Up, etc.
Sette – a second to the above.
Str8 Outta Philly — best subs in the area, hands down.
John, thanks for the tip. I’ll have to spend a few minutes figuring out how to add things and do so. Do we also add pictures? Hmm, never mind – I’ll investigate the site.
better then Mamma Zu? Blasphemy.
OMG, where is OMG Cafe??? Off to explore and add some stuff. Guess we can’t vote to delete things, which really is too bad.
I personally find it ridiculous that the Patrick Henry was neglected. Eric and Rick are great guys, the very awesome James Menefee of local band favorite Long Arms bartends there and it doesn’t make the map!?!? Come ON. Find them at http://www.thphpub.com or go check them out. The food is always consistent and if the late night smell of smoke drives you away, how about having dinner in the upstairs dining room or on the patio? It’s a great option and I can’t believe it was forgotten in this piece.
Let me be more clear about how Foodspotting works, since it looks like some of you are confused: I did not forget anyone, it is just that no one has created any entries for Patrick Henry yet. Foodspotting is a crowd-sourced endeavor – if you see something missing, then go add it. Go to OMG, or Patrick Henry, or It Must Be Heaven or anywhere is the area that is not yet on the map and get’em on there.
I found a link for the Hill Cafe: http://www.foodspotting.com/places/183629-the-hill-cafe-richmond
Can anyone suggest any places for a calorie counter?
House of Homemade is now open at 27th and Marshall! Good stuff — check it out!
John Murden, thanks, but I’m not confused, I’ve just been too lazy to go the places I think should be listed and take pictures, however I plan to do so soon! And I hope some of the other posters on this thread do so, too. I’m not sure if the lack of pictures is an issue, but in my case, if I have eaten something great, I want to post a pic along with a recommendation!
I did find the button on the site where you can add something so…..on to the ‘to do’ list….
House of Homemade has a page now: http://www.foodspotting.com/places/232609-house-of-homemade-richmond
