Church Hill Viaduct, Marshall St., 14th to 21st. Richmond, Va. – In the distance are Monumental and St. Paul’s churches, City Hall, Capitol Building and Main Street Depot. Length of bridge 2800 feet, spans 17 railroad tracks, height 95 feet, connects Eastern section of the city, known as Church Hill, with the central or business section.
I love that image of the viaduct. I try to imagine it whenever I’m in Jefferson Park.
Thanks for the visual!!! I can remember walking across the viaduct as a child.
I often think of my childhood days when my friends and I use to walk across the Viaduct to get to downtown….Thanks for the photo. I had been searching the Web for a long time trying to find a picture.
