Have you seen Lucy?

My parents’ poor senile dog Lucy is lost. They let her out in the yard for a quick potty break as usual, and she just disappeared out the gate (likely went up the driveway on 29th street between Broad and Grace Streets). We have no idea what happened or where she went; she has never strayed from my mom’s side. We’ve been looking for her everywhere. She is [mostly] deaf and takes daily medication, so she’s quite fragile (and it’s very cold!).

I got a glimpse of a dog last night at Leigh and N 32nd at about 8 pm. The dog ran north down N 32nd Street. The dog did look very much like the one in the pic. As far as I could tell, it didn’t have a collar on. I hope you find her – or already have. Please go to animal control and make sure they haven’t picked her up.
Dropped off your poster information at Church Hill Animal Hospital and Richmond Animal Care and Control so if Lucy appears in either place, they have the contact information. Also ran into an RACC officer while I was cruising thru extended Church Hill with my eyes out for Lucy and showed him the picture as well. Hoping/praying and sending out positive thoughts for you and Lucy and will keep looking …
Thank you all so, so much for everything you are doing. This is the perfect example of why we love Church Hill and its people so very, very much.
Jim, I just hope you find her soon, best of luck with it.
Please remember to also check Henrico Animal Control since we are closer to the county line here in the East End …… and continued positive thoughts in our dog friendly neighborhood
LUCY IS HOME!!!! A young lady named Kate on P Street took her in the night she wandered away. THANK YOU to everyone for your FaceBook shares, posts, emails, texts, calls, and flyers all of which helped bring her home. Lucy and her humans are blessed to live in such an awesome community! We’ll start taking down the myriad of flyers we stuck up….lol…Happy New Year!!!
My heart is singing!!! Maybe keep the posters up so we continue to see Ms. Lucy’s beautiful face and a big FOUND notification next to her!! 🙂
That is such great news – and I agree, it would be fun to leave at least a few posters up but mark them ‘FOUND!’
P Street – wow, she traveled quite a way. SO glad she is home!
I am glad Lucy is home. This happened to me and my old dog one night around 10 pm. I was frantic and in tears so I understand your feelings. The vet said that old dogs that are blind or partially blind and deaf become disoriented and wander because of the disorientation. They turn around looking for your sent and if they do not find it, they panic and start wandering.
Yea!
