Capt. Paul Kiniry said the victim, a 52-year-old man who had a gunshot wound to one arm, was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. The victim told police he had been shot at 6:50 p.m. in the 2100 block of Phaup Street by an unknown assailant.
Question. Since this isn’t really Church Hill according to your recent arguments, why is it on the Church Hill News blog?
People still consider the whole area Church Hill. It may not be the neighborhood, but the city also has area names. Think of Henrico here. There are probably thousands of neighborhoods in Glen Allen, hundreds in Lakeside, and several in East Highland Park. Glen Allen is actually a dot on the map at a railroad crossing and has given its name to 2 zip codes. Lakeside isn’t even a neighborhood proper, but it’s an area where people live. East Highland Park is a neighborhood, but like Church Hill, the name covers a wider area.
I had heard someone was shot last night but things were quiet when I got home.
