Fight leads to arrests, lockdown at Armstrong
01/17/2012 1:16 PM by John M
This video is just in from the scene of Armstrong High School, where a fight has led to the arrest of multiple students. Dozens of police officers responded to the scene just after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. As of 12:00 p.m., the school was still on lockdown.
my daughter go to armstronge high school i been trying to get her out of that school for the longest but they keep on telling me that the only school in my zone she want to lean not fight i just don’t now what to do Iam scared to sent her to school tomoorrow Do anyone now how i could get my daughter in another school
Because Armstrong is supposed fully accreditted, it is very difficult to send your child out of zone. If your child is very gifted, there is Maggie Walker, IB (at TJ) or Open High (although less than 100 kids will be accepted there). There is also Community High, but you must also apply and be accepted, and there is limited spaced. The only option open to most people is the open enrollment lottery.
It is a sham that Armstrong is fully accredited and we are forced to send our children there.
Not a shame that they are fully accreditted. That’s great news! Get involved and try to help fix the problems unless you have a relative with a Henrico address. Generally fights happen in areas that are not monitored where students can get away with it. Schools need to focus on building community. I don’t know anything about Armstrong other than the area it serves, but I urge you to investigate further.
