Lost dog FOUND at Chimbo gardens
03/27/2012 5:06 PM by John M
A reader sent this in just now:
A guy was walking his dog earlier, this dog started following them. He wanted to go home, so put the dog in the tennis courts figuring the owner must be near by and would find him. The dog has an electric collar. Medium size, kind of light brown. […] The guy brought water and if the dog is still there by 6 he will call animal control.
that dog lives on 32nd in the row houses at chimbo park between broad and grace (just up the alley from the community garden). he is always running around loose with or without his family. i think his name is birch.
His name is Birch and he lives in the 300 block of N 32nd Street – I think it’s house #314.
And he escapes on a daily basis and wanders the park. The owners should be locked up on the tennis courts with only a bowl of water!
I guess they haven’t heard of Leash Laws and such. If they can’t keep the dog fenced in away from the public then they are not responsible enough to own a pet.
Birch is a great dog, friendly and playful, but he does escape most every day and he has no respect for traffic. He lives in the 300 block of 32nd, but has friends across from Chimbo so he crosses Broad. Does anyone know how this episode turned out?
Apparently the electric fence doesn’t work so need to build one he can’t get over or put him in a yard kennel. And if he has no idea how to negotiate traffic, it can turn out bad.
Does anyone know what happened to Birch? I hope AC doesn’t have him. I will contact my neighbor to check.
Am I the only one confused about how this dog escapes almost every day? Is he just left outside all day, unobserved or attended? Like how I leave lawn furniture outside, you know, inanimate objects as opposed to living things…
Because I have news for the owners: one day you’re gonna find your dog dead in your yard or he’s never gonna make it home and you won’t see him again-he will just vanish, or maybe you are just gonna find a pink and gold smear somewhere on the road. That’s exactly where these shenanigans are heading.
Animal control should be the least of their worries, but if he’s there, here’s hoping the inconvenience and fees save that dogs life.
I live on 33rd and see this dog a lot walking around the neighborhood.
He was loose again on Sunday. I saw him wondering around Tricycle Gardens and one of the gardeners walked him back home.
