A peek behind the new Church Hill Association site

A neat look at putting together the new Church Hill Association website from Karen Chase:

The project began with the understanding that a full-blown brand was missing not only for the CHA, but for the neighborhood itself. Church Hill is a very historic, gorgeous neighborhood and we weren’t showing it. It was here that Patrick Henry gave his famous “Liberty or Death” speech in 1775, and Richmond’s first streets appeared. So it felt right to start the brand with the tagline “Where Richmond began.”

The short piece is a glimpse into how existing urban neighborhoods can brand or differentiate themselves in the online era. Across Richmond, the neighborhood associations are at the forefront of helping to shape how their neighborhoods are presented. Most locally, the Union Hill Civic Association also has a site. On the other side of the city, the Fan District Association has a relatively new site, the Museum District Association hosts a fairly informative site, and the Historic Jackson Ward Association site has been up for years.
