2012 Most Endangered Historic Places List to be announced next Monday

Big announcement! We will be revealing our 2012 Most Endangered Historic Places List on Monday, May 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Libby Hill Overlook in Richmond. Come join us! The park is located at 28th and Franklin on Church Hill.
it’s a pity that this view does not include the continuation of the river beneath the Soldiers & Sailors Monument. The immediate bend itself is not under threat – it’s that element to the right of the white concrete towers which will be obliterated by Echo Harbour. Take care, short term revenue orientated decision makers will take credit for “preserving” this immediate view of the bend – somewhat analogous to looking after the face of the Mona Lisa but allowing the body to deteriorate !!
