As part of the 5 day NACCC, this Saturday at Chimborazo Park will be a bike swap at 9AM followed by what should be the best racing of the competition through the rest of the day.

Nava Life Yoga in the Park (Jefferson Park)

I would like to introduce you to a Nava (Beautiful) Life through the physical practice of Yoga.
The physical practice of Yoga is the sequencing/flow of poses (asanas) that link the body and mind through the threading of breath and movement. The practice cultivates physical, mental and emotional balance, openness, intelligence, strength and well-being. It brings your body, mind and spirit into harmony and health to create a Nava Life. Class Level: Beginners – Intermediate. You will need a Yoga mat, blanket or large towel to practice on, a bottle of water and an open heart. This is a FREE event. No class if rain.

Rocketts Red Glare

“Come celebrate the beginning of summer at Rocketts Landing as we splash colors all across the sky. Your whole family will have a great time listening to the live music and watching the dazzling fireworks display from the edge of the James River. And both the event and the parking are free. So pack some food, bring a blanket or a few chairs, and enjoy a spectacular welcome to summer from the city’s coolest new riverfront community.”

Colin Healy plays at 5:30PM, Kings of Swing play from 6:30PM through the fireworks display. Fireworks at 9PM.

City Council Formal Meeting

Every 2nd and 4th Mon – Responsible for deciding official Council action, which includes discussing, adopting, rejecting, and amending laws and approving the budget. Formal meetings include a time for pubic comment and are televised live on the local PBS station and are replayed in Richmond on Government Access Channel 17, beginning at Noon and 7:00 p.m. daily.

The Virginia Street Farmer’s Market opens May 10, 2012 on Virginia Street in the Shockoe Design District.
