File this under “wandering dogs”

“Just saw two dogs walking down 500 block of chimbo blvd heading towards broad. One seemed orangish and the other black and tanish maybe. Orange one following the black and tan one. 12:15am 6/19/12. They were not interested in my pizza so i couldn’t coax them in for a tag reading.”
TAGGED: pets
Almost sounds like the same two dogs recently seen here lost and found?
This sounds like the two dogs (one looks like a Pit Bull/ Terrier and the other might be a large Retriever mix) that killed a feral cat in our backyard when we were out of town. A neighbor witnessed it and confirmed the dogs killed for no reason. I’m usually home when they roam, and hear all the barking from their attempt to chase down and kill the cats – even at 2am in the morning – and I chase the dogs away before they can actually do harm. They also like eating the food I leave for the feral colony (to keep them out of everyone’s trash) and defecate in our yard. If anyone recognizes the description of these dogs, please let me know as I’d be very interested in speaking to the owner. In the meantime, we’re putting in a gate in the backyard this weekend to keep these killers out of our personal space.
Why is this news? I’ve seen probably 40-60 dogs wandering around this year past my house. Some obviously escaped pets with collars/leashes/chains till on them, but plenty that look like they have long since been stray. So the odds that they are the same “killers” is pretty far fetched. Those two dogs have probably long since moved on, died, been killed or captured.
I’d say the odds are fairly good given the description of the dogs (even that the orange one follows the black and tan one) and because this was reported less than 1 block from my house. Those dogs have not moved on, or died, been killed or have been captured, though I keep hoping that one of those scenarios would play out. If you read closely, you’d notice that I basically stated these dogs are repeat offenders. The cat was killed June 2nd. They have tried killing the cats about once a month over the past year now – and it’s always just these 2 dogs fitting the same description. Either they’re getting out of the fence or the owner is letting them roam. Regardless, they’ll be back. And I will be waiting.
Why in the world isn’t anyone calling Animal Control? If I see these two dogs, that is what I will do.
This sounds like the two that hang out on the back porch of 1110 n 31st st (or at least they did I haven’t seen them in a month or so). I called animal control and left a message but it was never returned.
@4- and what exactly will you be waiting to do?
I saw these two as well and noticed that a fence was left open right by them. I assumed that they just got out of the fence so I put them back in there and shut the gate. Hopefully it was their home. I did notice that it is pretty easy for them to jump over the gate but at least I tried.
