Anthony’s on the Hill now has beer and wine

Anthony’s now has their ABC license and will have beer and wine starting tonight.
Ehh. I tried Anthony’s last night for the first time and wasn’t impressed. The young girl working the counter could not have been any nicer though. Weird configuration…..Only a handful of tables, many of which were being used by customers waiting for carryout. There needs to be a bench or seating area that allows for people to wait without feeling awkward or interfering with sit down diners.
As for my meal, $14.00 for Rigatoni and average marinara sauce with two big flavorless meatballs is exhorbitant. The bread was okay. Tasty, but probably better served with olive oil….would like to try their pizzas as they looked appetizing coming out of the oven….
I’m glad I’m not the only obe that feels like Drew about Anthony’s. I never expected anything more than average from this place…average, unimpressive ambiance, average menu, average everything. And, I’m Ok with average when I’m looking for a quick meal on the hill without much fuss. I ordered the rigatoni as well…with meatballs and meat sauce. Well, the meal was average as expected but the price almost floored me…$17 + tax. Yikes, that’s not an average price for averge food at an average location. The rigatoni is nothing special and as Drew described….the meatballs could be much better. Bland at best.
I decided, at that point, that I wouldn’t go back for a while. Tarrants delivers to the hill and although, more expensive…it’s worth every penny. Always great food that is well prepared and presented (even delivery). They make it tough to complain about price. It’s worth it. So, I’ve just been picking up the phone for delivery.
Tarrant’s is phenomenal. I had no idea they delivered, but if I’m going to spend $17, it would be Tarrant’s by a landslide. Anthony’s Rigatoni dish was a $10-12 meal at best and frankly, even that’s stretching it. It just wasn’t good. Not bad….but not good. Fair. AVERAGE.
I’ve picked up pizza from here on 2 occasions and both time it’s been excellent, but i agree there should be an area for customers to wait for carry out orders.
Yes, I agree. Just average. I have not tried the pizza yet but there are several pizza places I really like fairly close so not really needing any more pizza options.
