Recognize this dog?

She ran into my house from the direction of Libby hill park or Sugar Bottom. Very recently had puppies. Wearing 2 collars but no tags, fairly healthy but very skinny and hungry. Black tongue. About 30 pounds.
So let me get this straight…The dog isn’t spayed and looks like she just had a litter, was running loose and is very thin? And what, you wanna find the owners?
She’s really cute.
Obviously returning to the owner is problematic, but there are almost certainly puppies somewhere going hungry right now. She is still producing plenty of milk. But this lovely animal was taken to Church Hill animal hospital for spaying, shots, and heartworm testing. She is healthy and will be released soon to the Henrico shelter for adoption. She is a real snuggly sweetheart and seems to be trained. Call CHAH or the Henrico shelter if you are interested in adoption.
How heartsickening to think that her puppies are probably dead due to neglect by the previous owner.
Well, that may be a mercy…
Two puppies were found, I think on the 2800 block of East Franklin St., that might have been hers, and both have found homes. Most of the people I’ve talked to think they were her puppies. I hope either you keep her (and get her neutered) or she finds a good home.
I’m fostering her but not sure we can keep her permanently (she is too puppy playful for my little dog who is still terrified by her romps – after five days). She is spayed. Smart. Sweet. Affectionate. Seems healthy so far. Cool dog. call the church hill vet or call me directly if interested 804-562-7482
