Jesse’s story of unearthing a 23-year-old plaque at the Bill Robinson Playground is awesome, and also shares this:
A small extant building on M Street, facing the park, was once a barbershop patronized Muhammad Ali when he visited Richmond.
TAGGED: Bill Robinson Park
Needs a concrete base because over time, like the markers at Oakwood Cemetery, it will once again slowing disappear underground due to weather, grass cutting and gravity.
Eric, it definitely needs something more permanent. It even moves if you push it. Otherwise, someone will have to unearth it every few years.
