Lt.Blackwell’s Sector 113 report for August (PDF) is now available for all points north of Carrington and Nine Mile.
The report includes crime stats for the the year through September 14, as well as a congratulations to Officer Brenda Graham on being awarded the Richmond Police Departments Officer of the Month Award.
Even though Brenda is assigned to First Precinct, she showed last month that she can even help out Major Crimes with an aggravated assault.
Brenda responded to a random gunfire call on Mechanicsville Turnpike. Citizens told her that a large number of shell casings were behind a store. Henrico Police, also at the scene, then received word that a gunshot victim had arrived at a Hanover hospital. He admitted he was shot on Mechanicsville. Brenda worked with Henrico to secure the scene, keeping traffic from rolling over shell casings in the middle of the street.
Major Crimes Detective Anthony Jackson, personally Officer Graham in an email. He wrote: From collecting and logging in evidence, to reviewing surveillance footage, and going out to Hanover and assisting with handling the victim’s vehicle, you were a great help today. In addition, the report you wrote was very thorough.
So when Officer Graham is done catching burglars in the act in Whitcomb Court – two just last month – rounding up guns and drugs during searches, finding stolen vehicles, coordinating Shop with a Cop for First Precinct, helping R-R-H-A with community events and assisting neighborhood churches with back-to-school events.
