Local chef to appear on Food Network’s Chopped
Brittanny Evans Anderson, a native Richmonder, resident of Church Hill, and Chef/Owner of Fencewalk Events, will be competing on the October 16th episode of Chopped on the Food Network. After 5 years of cooking in New York City at such establishments as Blue Hill at Stone Barns and Northern Spy Food Company, Ms. Anderson has relocated to Richmond, VA to start a new business and develop a restaurant concept.
Ms. Anderson’s appearance on Chopped will be the Halloween themed episode of the season and involves some very interesting ingredients. Says Brittanny, “While I wasn’t prepared for a Halloween theme, I was super excited to see lots of offal in all of my baskets. It was definitely challenging, but my background in butchery helped me out a lot.”
Ms. Anderson currently operates a sustainable catering and event planning service, Fencewalk Events, and helps out at Sausagecraft, an artisanal sausage company here in Richmond. Presently, she is looking for a space to serve Richmonders her brand of rustic, French Inspired American food. There will be a viewing party held at Station 2 on Tuesday, October 16th at 10 pm.
Ms. Anderson, please locate at 23rd and Cedar!
The macarons on her site look great. I’d buy local macarons if she sold through some local establishment.
