Can you recommend a good tailor for both women’s and men’s clothing in the city? Thanks!!

This isn’t really close to Church Hill, but my husband loves Oksana at Fashion Design. She does a killer job every time. http://fashiondesignva.com
I use Franklin Street Cleaners and Gus’s Shoe Repair (all one business). They do decent work. Located on East Franklin Street between 7th and 8th Streets. Most cleaners do tailor stuff, but this place has decent prices, and the staff is friendly and helpful. They also repair and work on leather goods.
Art Tailor’s on S. Sheppard in Carytown are very reliable.
If you’re looking for someone to maybe hem some pants or something like that I would recommend Diane down at Shockoe Bottom Cleaners (down the street from McDonalds on Broad at the bottom of the hill). She’s super nice, does great work, and charges decent prices.
Not in the hood, but H&L Tailor & Alterations, West Broad Street where Horsepen dead ends at Broad (in a tiny strip mall, but what isn’t!). Have used them for umpteen years. Excellent work, reasonable prices, fast and really nice people!
It’s a bit of a haul, but I am sold on George’s Alterations at the Gayton Crossing Shopping Center. He and his staff do a great job, can handle complex alterations, and can turn work around very quickly. He is not the cheapest tailor in town, but I suspect he is the best.

I’ll second SEW about Diane at Shockoe Bottom Cleaners. She’ll know your name after your first visit. Does good work at a reasonable price and is certainly convenient to those living on the Hill.
Wow! Thanks for all taking the time to comment! Much appreciated!
Oksana at Fashion Design on Broad is THE BEST. Took a custom suit in to get tailored… needed the jacket brought in and the pants legs dropped and slimmed up. She’s a great conversation, and very effective.
3rd for Shockoe Bottom Cleaners! She’s done simple stuff through an evening dress for me. Always does great work, fast, & reasonable price.
