Join the Richmond Tree Stewards and Church Hill neighbors this weekend as they plant fruit and nut trees at Chimborazo Park.

The main planting will be this Sunday, November 4th from 1-5PM:

Help make this project a reality that will provide sustenance and delight to wildlife and park visitors for years to come!

Wear work clothes, boots, gloves and bring your shovels, garden rakes, and pruning shears if you’ve got them. Meet at the dog park parking lot.

The city has started digging the holes, but we’ll need to do a little digging too. We’ll be planting apples, blueberries, figs, persimmons, filberts and much more!

Additional volunteers are being sought for hole digging duty on Saturday and Sunday:

This Sunday is the first planting day for the trees we bought for Chimborazo Park. Unfortunately, the city crew that was supposed to be digging the holes in advance of planting suffered a equipment failure and left the task unfinished. So, volunteers are being sought to help dig holes. We will work Saturday starting at 1PM and Sunday starting at 10AM, The volunteers will be meeting up around the dog park. Look for the woman in the orange work vest.
