Arrest made in fatal shooting on Nelson Street (UPDATED)
Richmond police Capt. John A. O’Kleasky Jr. said officers responded to a shooting call at 2:52 a.m. in the 1200 block of Nelson Street and found the victim dead. […] A woman was taken into custody at the scene, O’Kleasky said. Her identity was being withheld as the investigation continued.

Nelson Street Death InvestigationRichmond Police detectives have determined a fatal shooting that occurred this morning was accidental.
Just before 3 a.m. today, officers responded to a residence in the 1200 block of Nelson Street and found a male who had been shot once and died at the scene.
A 25-year-old female was taken into custody at the scene and interviewed by detectives. After preliminary investigation, interviews with witnesses and after comparing evidence found at the scene and statements made by the female taken into custody, the Richmond Police Department, in consultation with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, will not be prosecuting the female at this time.
The investigation is still in its early stages and remains ongoing. Charges could be placed as the investigation continues.
At this time, the incident is being investigated as an accidental shooting that resulted in a tragic death.
Richmond Police detectives have identified Antonio D. Washington, 22, of the 7600 block of Beth Road, as the man shot to death this morning.
