Lt.Minton’s Sector 111 February report (PDF) is now available. Sector 111 encompasses Church Hill, Chimborazo, Church Hill North, Fulton, Oakwood, and Union Hill:

January proved to be a challenging month. Violent crime in the sector was up 9 to 13 as compared to last January. We experienced 7 robberies this reporting period, last year there were 4. One of the most disturbing robberies was the home invasion of a 76 year old man where he was pushed out of his wheelchair during the robbery. Due to some excellent detective work two people were arrested within days. There is a picture of one of the people arrested on page 3 [BELOW]. The other offender is her juvenile brother.

Aggravated assaults were up 5 to 6. All the aggravated assaults have been cleared by arrest. We are looking for the communities help in clearing the robberies of the Nite and Day Market at 2829 Q St and the robbery of The Shockoe Valley Market at 311 N 18th St. If you have any information about the recent robberies in the area please reach out to me by phone or email. The smallest detail could help us solve this crime.

Property crime was also up for the month of January. Last year we had 45 property crimes, this January we had 55. Burglaries went from 11 to 13. Page 4 is a wanted photo of a “gentleman” wanted for Burglary in the area. Larcenies in general went from 29 to 37. We did see a reduction in Auto thefts which went from 5 to 3. The majority of our property crime was Theft from Building. The most common example of this is a person invites friends over to his/ her house and then a larceny occurs while these “friends” are at the residence. As you can imagine, this is a difficult crime for the police to combat and as you can see it made up the ma- jority of our property crime this period. The other wanted poster on page 5 is of a “gentleman” in our area that is wanted for destruction of property and contempt of court. He has been seen in the area of 32nd/Marshall st.

Let talk about some good news! One of sector 111’s finest received information that a lady in the Oakwood area had several warrants for her arrest due to thefts at several local gyms in the metro Richmond area. This officer made it her mission to find her and put a halt to these thefts. She knew what vehicle the suspect drove and where she had been staying. The suspect figured she could elude apprehension by changing vehicles but did not fool this officer. The of- ficer figured out what vehicle the suspect was using and caught up with her when she left her house. She was arrested without incident. The offender had 24 warrants out for her arrest.
