John Marshall ends Armstrong’s amazing run

The Armstrong Wildcats lost 65-53 to the John Marshall Justices in the Central Region semifinals last night at VCU’s Siegel Center:

The Justices (24-4) held the lead almost the entire night. They built a 12-point lead in the first quarter, but Armstrong cut it to six by halftime and took a one-point lead late in the third. […]

Capital District player of the year Tavon Mealy of the Wildcats scored 16 points, but was held to only four in the first half. […]

“They’re a good, tough team,” Ty White said of Armstrong, adding that it was great for the city of Richmond to have two of its teams in the region semifinals. “We’re the same breed. We’re cut from the same cloth.”

The Wildcats end the year with a 24-4 record and 2nd place in the Capital District. Congratulations on a great season!
