Big Brothers Big Sisters seeking volunteers for Chimborazo and George Mason

Our mission: Big Brothers Big Sisters is a nonprofit organization that works to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.

Our need: We have two site-based mentoring programs in the Church Hill area, at Chimborazo Elementary and George Mason Elementary. At Big Brothers Big Sisters, we are continually looking to expand our programs and recruit more volunteers, as there is an insatiable number of youth who can benefit from our programming. It has been especially difficult to recruit site-based mentors for Chimborazo and George Mason, because of the schools’ locations and distance from volunteer reservoirs, like corporations and universities. We are looking for people who can mentor for one hour per week, during lunchtime.

I know there are many students at George Mason and Chimborazo, hoping for Bigs in their lives, and this could be a great way to find each one of them a caring adult!
