Volunteers needed for tree planting in Chimborazo Park
Saturday May 18th, 10 AM. Near the gazebo (and Statue of Liberty) in Chimborazo Park:
We will be working with the Greater Richmond Area Rotary Club to plant 20 cherry trees in the park.
At least a dozen Volunteers are needed to help dig and plant. Volunteers need to bring their own tools and gloves as we have a limited supply of shovels available.
While the trees are free, DONATIONS ARE NEEDED to cover costs of tree supplies including hoses for watering, fertilizer, and mulch. The fundraising goal for this project is $250 and no gift is too small to make an impact.
Friends of Chimborazo Park is a 501C3 and therefore your donations are tax deductable. All checks should be made out to Enrichmond with Friends of Chimborazo in the For line. Donations can be mailed to John Drew Clay, Chair, Friends Of Chimborazo Park, 3308 E Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23223.
Those that cant actively participate are still encouraged to drop by and show your appreciation to the Rotary Club for their donations
There has been a snag in tree delivery and the trees will not be in the park until around 3 pm saturday. We still need volunteers to help plant. Pilot holes should be dug, but there is still work to be done.
ooops now we are informed that the planting will be next weekend
