Police seeking man in attempted abduction in Fulton
The Richmond Police Department needs the public’s help to identify and locate a man who attempted to abduct a girl in Fulton today.
At approximately 1:40PM, in the 1100 block of Apperson Street, a 10-year-old girl was walking to the Powhatan Community pool when a man in a vehicle attempted to persuade the girl to enter his vehicle.
The man, a black male with a light complexion in his 50’s, balding with grey hair on his temples, reportedly made several attempts to persuade the girl to enter his vehicle. The vehicle is described as a grey minivan. At no time did the man leave his vehicle or make contact with the girl.
Officers and detectives have been canvassing areas of town and following leads in their attempts to locate the suspect.

After vigorous investigation, the Richmond Police Department has identified a person of interest in the attempted abduction investigation of a girl Tuesday and detectives are no longer looking for anyone else in this case.
At approximately 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, a 10-year-old girl walking in the 1100 block of Apperson Street to the Powhatan Community pool reported that a man in a vehicle attempted to persuade her to enter his vehicle.
Thanks to tremendous community support and information, detectives were able to identify this person within 24 hours. Detectives are currently consulting with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office to determine possible charges.
