Man killed on W Street
At 3:48 a.m., emergency dispatch received a call about gunfire. Officers arrived within minutes and found the body of a middle-aged black male lying in the street at the intersection of 22nd and W Streets. He had been shot several times.
Robbery is the apparent motive at this time. Detectives are looking for a black, four-door sedan – possibly a Nissan Maxima – that was spotted leaving the scene shortly after the shooting.
This is the 6th killing in the East End so far in 2013, and the 17th in Richmond. Three of the East End’s homicides have been cleared, and nine of Richmond’s.

The Richmond Police Department has identified the man shot to death Monday morning as LeSean L. Cosby, 31, of the 2800 block of Fairfield Avenue.
At approximately 3:48 a.m. Monday, officers received a call for random gunfire in the Fairmount neighborhood. They were on scene within minutes and found the victim lying in the street at the intersection of 22nd and W Streets.
Detectives believe the motive for the crime may be robbery, and are looking for three suspects.
Two suspects are described as black males in their 20s, between 5’7 and 5’10” with a slender build and medium complexion skin tone. The first suspect was last seen wearing a dark colored t-shirt and a baseball cap. The second suspect was last seen wearing a white t-shirt.
A third suspect is believed to have driven the getaway vehicle, which is possibly a black, four-door, older model, mid-size vehicle.
