Community clean-up on 25th Street

Sat Oct 26 8:00 am
There will be a community clean-up this Saturday 8AM-noon at 1223 N 25th Street. The purpose of this clean-up is to target the 25th Street corridor.
There will be breakfast provided at Mount Olivet Baptist Church and then the clean-up will start.

Fancy Me Mad

Sat Oct 26 6:00 pm
Tales from Edgar Allen Poe followed by a self-guided walking tour of the graveyard

Among the spirits represented: Edgar’s mother Eliza Poe, George Wythe and his murderous nephew, and Elizabeth Van Lew – Union spy

6:00 pm-Gates open for self-guided tour
6:45 pm-Church doors open – seating is first come, first served basis
7:00 pm- Poe tells stories in the church
7:30 pm-Self-guided tours continue

TRX in Libby Hill Park

With warmer weather on the way, sometimes it’s hard to make it to the gym. We get it. That’s why we’re moving the fun outdoors. Starting in May we’ll offer TRX & Yoga in the Park.

Yoga / 1st and 3rd TUES of each month at 7PM
TRX / 2nd and 4th SAT of each month at 9AM

If you’re a member at Richmond Balance it’s FREE! Punch cards are welcome. Don’t have a membership or a punch card? No worries, the drop-in price is $5 per class.

City Council Formal Meeting

Mon Oct 28 6:00 pm
Every 2nd and 4th Mon – Responsible for deciding official Council action, which includes discussing, adopting, rejecting, and amending laws and approving the budget. Formal meetings include a time for pubic comment and are televised live on the local PBS station and are replayed in Richmond on Government Access Channel 17, beginning at Noon and 7:00 p.m. daily.

Frequency
Typically the second and fourth Monday of each month; 6:00-8:30 p.m. (With the exception of August, when no Formal meetings are held, and holidays)

Free Yoga at Robinson Theater

Create better awareness and flexibility with yoga! Come try a guided 60 minute class for all levels. The class will focus on mindful movements, through standing and seated postures, to promote energy, flexibility, and simple techniques for stress management

Fall Festival at Robinson Theater

Located on 29th and Q street, the Robinson Theater wants you to attend our annual Fall Festival. This Free event will have cake walks, costume contests, food, inflatables, face painting, crafts, music, and more! (Costumes encouraged but not required)

Oakwood neighborhood clean-up

Let your Saturday go to waste – join in T.T.Y. monthly neighborhood effort to pick up litter! Meet at 1023 Oakwood Avenue. Trash bags , pick up rods, and gloves will be provided. Lunch will be provided by McDonald’s. To learn more on what areas will be targeted for clean up or to volunteer for this event please call 804-726-3471.
