From Lt.Minton:
Items were stolen out of an unlocked car in the 300 block of N 22nd Street overnight on 11/20/13. The suspect stole a GPS and Jos. A. Bank Coat. Attached is a person of interest who is wanted out of Henrico county on another matter. Please call me if you see this turkey in the neighborhood, I will put him behind bars for the holiday…

Lots of turkeys in my neighborhood but not this particular one…yet.
I’m about 75% sure I just saw this guy about an hour ago at 7:00AM on Marshall between 22nd and 23rd. I saw him open and stare into two garbage cans on the street and try at least one car door handle that was apparently locked. About a block down from him on on Marshall there were two unattended cars with doors on both sides of the vehicle sitting wide open.
Keeping valuables in an unlocked car? Come on, people. Whoever did this is a slimeball, no doubt, but you’ve got to be smarter than that.
I called Lt. Dan, but an hour after I saw the guy. Darnit, I’ll call 911 sooner when I see that kind of thing from now on. The height/weight, complexion, and slightly greyed beard were all similar to the description, but I only saw him from the side and back and he had a toboggan and a heavy jacket hiding his build, so I’m not totally sure it was him.
The fact that he’s hitting the same spot again makes me think he may have moved in the area.
James,
Any description on the jacket he was wearing?
James, yes, next time call BOTH Lt. Dan AND 911! If you see the guy again, you may be the hero of the hour if you can get the cops there in time!
And Bill 3 – agreed, come on folks – you should both lock your car and not keep anything of value inside that can be seen. That includes GPS on the dash. TAKE IT INSIDE WITH YOU!
I was paying more attention to what he was doing, and I’m a bit colorblind, but it was dull colored, like gray or brown, and quite thick and loose. Some sort of clothy material, not smooth like a waterproof synthetic jacket. I don’t think it had a hood, but if it did he wasn’t wearing it and it hung too loosely to notice and he had a wool toboggan hat on.
I would like thank lt Dan for posting this information here! The more people see this information the better! I know I’ll be on the lookout for this turkey and I hope the police department continues to keep this avenue of communication open.
