12/10/2013 12:38 PM by John M
Councilwoman Cynthia Newbille and Councilwoman Ellen Robertson will hold a Joint Community Meetings with on the Mayor’s Economic Development Plan for Shockoe Bottom and the Boulevard on Thursday, December 19 from 6-8PM at Main Street Station.
The meeting will include a presentation and discussion.
The event is free and open to the public and all residents of the Richmond Gateway 6th Voter District and Richmond East End 7th Voter District are invited and encouraged to attend.
Can it really be true, it’s no longer about a baseball stadium in the Bottom, but economic development . Try again Mr. Mayor and supporters!
RAILROAD? Having such a meeting at Main Street Station is very subtle but haven’t figured if it’s a subtle insult or a subtle joke…or if that’s all too subtle for the hostesses of the meeting.
Residents passionately debate ballpark proposal

Give it a rest. We need to clean up Richmond and bring new business to it rather than it becoming only a college town and a bunch of blight. Of course everyone argues NIMBY but this is a great area to develop since it is basically vacant anyway except for 18th Street. Richmond has been too backwards, too timid, too conservative with development and it is about time for change!
Hmmmm…4,000 workers in Chester at shift change causing traffic problems?
