Recognize this dog?

I was running down Government Road this morning and picked up a running buddy. She is sweet and looks taken care of but has no collar. She ran 3 miles with me and is currently on my patio. She has white socks, one white ear and one gray ear, and a white tip on her tail. I can be reached at 804.380.5675 or lmghidotti@hotmail.com.

As an update, “Gracie” (that’s what I’m calling her) was freaking out when I left her on my patio (trying to get inside) and freaking out when I let her into the alley (trying to get back inside to the patio). She’s at Richmond Animal Control. She knows ‘sit’ and ‘shake’…so if she’s yours, claim her…if she isn’t claimed…someone please adopt her!
I happened to notice y’all running this morning and thought, “what a sweet dog, she sure loves the morning run!” She looks like she’d make a great pet for someone if she doesn’t find her owner.
I am *so* glad there’s at least one person who didn’t look at me and think: why doesn’t she have her dog on a leash? Because I definitely was yelled at by people walking by more than once. And one person didn’t believe me when I said she wasn’t my dog and was nasty to me.
I actually saw this dog tied up to a sign yesterday around 3:45 by the pizza shop off of main st by the farmers market and the owner walked in..
Joseph, can you ask the shop owner if they know the dog’s owner or can describe them? It looks like a cute dog and would make a wonderful addition to a household who is simply trying to find someone to love it (and was probably hungry too). And is obviously an indoor dog by the way Lisa described her behavior to try and get inside. But bad move taking it to Animal Control so soon. I would have tried the Church Hill Animal Hospital first to see if they recognize her and also do a scan for a ID chip. AC only gives an owner only 10 days to claim before they decide the fate.
Actually, RACC scanned her for a chip. And she didn’t have one nor has her owner claimed her. She’s on hold for her owner until Christmas Day and then goes up for adoption. They are a no kill facility unless for health or aggression issues, which this dog doesn’t have. RACC has my contact information and a note in the file to call me if she doesn’t get adopted in a reasonable time.
In the meantime, I encourage anyone interested in adopting her to go to RACC after Christmas.
Oh, and for you judgmental types…next time this happens, I’ll take the dog to your house instead of RACC. I have 2 dogs, 1 cat, and one dog hates every other breed of dog beyond his own. Otherwise, she’d still be at my house.
Lisa – thank you for taking the time and effort to get this dog to safety. You did do the correct thing.
Owners who are looking for their lost dogs tend to look at RACC, it is the right place to take a dog who is lost. Thanks Lisa for taking care of this dog and making sure she is safe!

There is a post on craigslist . Someone is looking for her with pics from a small puppy until recent..I informed them, that thedog was taken to animal control
I’m not optimistic the owner is going to claim her since RACC won’t just release her back to them. The owner emailed me but didn’t indicate she was definitely picking up the dog. The owner hold grace period ran out Wednesday so the owner would need to adopt her. I’m going to call the shelter this week to see if she’s still there.
