Two incidents on Clay Street

I own 3 units in the Hill and in the last 2 weeks I have had a brick thrown through a window and break in. I thought this might be useful info for the neighbors as I have not had any crime related incidents at any of my Hill properties up to now.
The unit on the NE corner of 28th and Clay took the brick through the window and the house on the NW corner of 27th and Clay was broken into [the night of the 24th/25th]. The assailants kicked in the back door, shattering the door itself.
As a fellow clay street resident, I appreciate the information.
I hope my large, loud dog and my alarm function as some deterrent. Best of luck with recouping your losses. Sorry
Thanks for letting us know. This hits very close to home. However, that description of the house on NW corner of 27th is incorrect. That home is owned by its current resident. NE corner is also lived in by its owner. The house on the SW corner is a rental though. I’m not sure about the house on the SE corner.
Clay St, must be a typo, Eliot is a good friend and it’s the house at the NE corner of 28th and Clay. Stucco that’s set back from the other houses on the block. That’s the rental that had the door kicked in on it.
That is real close to home. 😡
We found about 1cup of crystals in a ziplock bag in the grass next to the tricycle gardens (and playground) on 31st street (200 block). Not being sure what it was, we asked a neighbor and checked the internet for images of something similar, both indicated it may be crystal meth.
Does Churchill have such an abundance of drugs that it can be left laying around for our children or teenagers, dogs, etc. to pick up? If this is crystal meth, we were told there was some serious money in that bag and it was probably left by a dealer.
What’s being done to clean up our drug dealing in Churchill? We never hear about drug arrests really. Are the dealers being ignored so they won’t shoot each other and, thus, keep the homicide rate down?
Drugs wreck families as wll as those trying to make a good run of life. We’d rather see the money spent on jail time for addicts to be used for rehab instead…some kind of confined rehab too-none of this ‘pee in a cup’ once a week crap. Real confinement. If you leave a horse near the water long enough, they will eventually drink. Use the jail cells for the lazy dealers.
[Mr. Murden, I hope you will put this post on the main chpnews page instead of under just the crime link. Thank you]
Hey! The email address that you used isn’t valid. Can you hit me up at murden@gmail.com? – John
Thanks for the clarification John. Either way, it’s very scary! I hope the family living there wasn’t home at the time and is safe.
