Five parcels of land along Government Road from a former trailer park are for sale for $1,500,000.
2.31 acres for high-density residential (43 units/ac), retail uses next to the James River and 1 mi to Rockett’s Landing in a rapidly-growing historic neighborhood on the outskirts of the city. Already developed with private cul de sac road and alleys, water/sewer. This riverfront location next to Chimborazo Park, Gillies Creek Park and upcoming Moseley Storefront Plan. Call for more information.
“and upcoming Moseley Storefront Plan.” Huh? Anyone know what the Moseley Storefront Plan is?
This land has been for sale for a long time. Overpriced! I’m not sure how they get away with saying it’s riverfront either unless they’re referring to Government Road being a river. I just can’t see a high-density development here. Will be interesting to see if anything ever happens. What ever happened to Oakwood Heights right next to it?
Mars, Oakwood Heights was approved but they never seem to have gotten a building permit, so I’m not sure if it could still happen since some things expire at a certain point….and I assume this land sale includes the site of it but maybe I’m wrong.
I’m still wondering what the Moseley Storefront Plan is. Google gave me nothing other than this thread and the realtor’s description on various sites.
And I agree with you, it’s not exactly riverfront, but I guess from some areas it’s river view.
Wow, I guess I can start listing my house as riverfront, since I live on Chimbo park and can almost see the river. This piece of property isnt even on the hill, its on the way down….. If you built a 6-7 story building it might be riverview….
Also funny, 1 mile from rockets landing (which is on the water), but its water front? This is a joke, I bet some government official said lets say its waterfront and market it up 5 times, someone will think its a good deal when we take 900,000!
The KINGS RETREAT phase II?
While gathering information for a possible article for the CHA Newsletter (I have been absent the last 2 months due to personal matters), I ran across the Main Stage Productions building that is currently up for sale by itself. The building seems to fall in the map area and not sure if a part of those parcels? If this area was developed, the building would make a great events hall properly restored and giving it’s historic significance.
Maybe by ‘riverfront’ they mean Gillies Creek 😉 The location is AT LEAST 1/2 mile from the James as the crow flies.
I am not really sure what is going on here? The Main Stage Productions building seems to fall in the northern parcel but it was listed 18-days ago at 1,300,000 with 3.25 acres of land. The building (3801 Glenwood Ave) is 21,450 sq feet and offered tax credits.
The Main Stage Productions building and lot have been for sale for at least the last 6 years. It is separate. The area to the north of it is also a separate lot and I think it is owned by some subsidiary of Fulton Properties. They all total over 20 acres. This lot was actually sold a couple of years ago to a new owner. Property in this area of Church Hill/Fulton sells REALLY slowly!
