Not so much a “found” cat…

..because that we suggests some affirmative action on our part. This handsome kitty strolled through our kitchen tonight, having let himself in through the cat door. He is clearly accustomed to houses, people, dogs, and other cats, and he does not appear to have missed a meal. No collar, though (I can see how one might offend his sartorial sensibilities).
He may be on a bit of walk-about, what with the balmy spring weather and all, and perhaps a bit further from home than he usually wanders on his daily constitutionals. If he’s yours, give us a call–222-3238 (even if he’s returned home, because I suspect he will grace us with his company again, and it would be handy to know where he belongs).
TAGGED: pets
He was probably looking for some Dr. Peppurrr and some Mountain Mew, he seems to pawfur the good stuff.
we have seen this kitty in the backyard and on the front porch the past few weeks in the area of Marshall and Chimborazo. While he is definitely friendly, his presence is somewhat upsetting to the pre-existing kitty dynamic. I hope he finds his way back to what is surely a loving home!
I believe this kitty was left behind by the lady who lived in the “new orleans”-looking house at Clay and 31st. She had mentioned that she had been feeding him. We saw him still sitting next to pet bowls on the stairs after the house was put back up for rent 🙁
awww… that’s “grey cat”. he/she is very loveable. I see him/her under and on one of our neighbor’s porches daily and have for the past year or so. I figured it was theirs. (32nd and Marshall).
Rats.
Well, he really is a lovely kitty, but we can’t take him on a permanent basis–our stretch of Broad is such a death trap for four-leggeds, I won’t be adding more as long as we live here, even one who may be street-wise enough to survive it. We let him wander on his way last night, figuring he was heading home. Guess not. If/when you see him, call me and I’ll fetch him and get him into a rescue situation.
i know this is the same cat that was looking through my storm door (23rd & R) and when i opened the door to investigate, he walked right in. couldn’t keep him!
My wife and I see this cat all the time. I thought he had an owner since we see him in the same place a lot. I’d hate to see him go to a shelter. I’d like to try to integrate him with our cats. If that doesn’t work I have a friend who has good luck finding homes for animals in need.
@7 Awesome, thanks. Let me know. He’s starting to integrate pretty nicely with our gang when he comes to call (if it weren’t for the darn road I’d formally add him, but…). That’s my number in the original post–please call or post a follow-up here? I’d love to know how things turn out for him.
Hopefully we see him soon, it’s been a few days, but it’s also been raining so we haven’t been as consistent with our walks.
Brown tabby invited himself for dinner at my house tonight. Just like everyone said above, he made a beeline for the door and was completely non-plussed by my hissing/growling cats. He’s clean, well fed, and socialized so he must be somebody’s cat. Or everybody’s cat…? I sure do wish I could take him but my place is just too small for more.
A friendly brown tabby has been hanging around our home and that of neighbors in the vicinity if Chimborazo & the 3300 block of Broad. He ‘a ready and willing to enter any open door. He’s clearly been an owned cat. If he is now on his own, has anyone been feeding him? If he is to be integrated into a new home, he should be scanned for a microchip and tested for FIV/FELV to make sure he does not carry contagious diseases that could infect other cats. If someone claims him, please post to advise his concerned fan club. Maybe get him a breakaway collar with ID tags in addition to a microchip.
