Is this your dog?

Hey Richmond, if this is your adorable lost dog don’t worry — he is no longer lost. He didn’t have a phone number, but his vet info was on his rabies tag. We took him to the vet where they will hold him till his owner inquires. Get in touch with your vet! Also your dog is so funny.
TAGGED: pets
Strange that the rabies tag info wasn’t crossed with the owner’s info – if they found the vet?
Rabies tags have the name and phone number of veterinary practice that administered the vaccine on the rabies tag. The tags have the year the vaccine was administered and a tag number. The rabies tag number is recorded under the name of the pet and owner in the dvm’s records. I work for a dvm. If someone calls us with a dog that they’ve found that has one of our rabies tags, we tell that person to bring the animal to us. We would never give out an owner’s name and contact info to anyone other than animal control or the police. We will, however, reunite the owner and pet and provide the contact info of the person who found the pet, if they wish to share it.
