Tricycle Gardens’ Farm Stand moving to Manchester
03/07/2014 8:30 AM by John M
In an email yesterday, Tricycle Gardens announced that after 3 years operating in Church Hill they will be moving their Farm Stand from Jefferson Avenue to the site of their Urban Farm in Manchester beginning April 10.
Program Coordinator Claire Sadeghzadeh says that “we will most likely keep a Get Fresh! refrigerator stocked at our HQ [on 24th Street] for folks who want to pop in during the week and we will be expanding to a third corner store in the East End where folks can shop for produce.”
Bummed. I loved having you guys @ Jeff Ave./Marshall/& 21st St.’s (while it lasted). You were (are) one of MANY signs of the vitality and growth in our neighborhood.
I work in Manchester and have passed the Urban Farm many times. I look forward to patronizing the stand!
It would be wonderful if Tricycle would double down on Church Hill with a new farm and market in Mr Tupponce’s lot surrounding the former Family Market. Can you imagine a partnership among them, Union Market, and nearby eateries?!!
Sad to see them go.
From Tricycle Gardens: “In preparation for moving our Four Season Farm Stand to RVA’s Urban Farm located at 9th and Bainbridge on Thursday, April 17th, we will not open our weekly farm stand in Church Hill today, March 27th through Thursday, April 10th. “
‘understand the move, but sad to see them go.
Confused & bummed: saw a young Gent out in front of Tricycle Gardens office @ 24th & Jeff. Ave . this morning assembling wood vegetable “beds” or etc. Thought this was a “proof of life”?? ***DON’T LEAVE YOU GUYS!! The neighborhood is abuzz with life & you have a perfect part of it!!!
