Local officer recognized by the Korean-American Grocers Association

First Precinct Officer Rey Perez was recognized this week by the Korean-American Grocers Association of Greater Richmond for his “outstanding service and support to the Richmond residents in community policing and citizen support.”
He is pictured above with one of the association members and owner of Songs Market on Mechanicsville Turnpike who nominated him for the award.
“I really appreciate them for it,” Perez said. “It made my heart smile to be recognized by the citizens and store owners who I serve. They make me feel like family.”
Well done Ofc. Perez!! It would also be good to note that the last three RPD “Officers of the Month” have hailed from our very own 1st Precinct. Note recent Twitter (& other) story’s of excellent Police work & act’s of admirable humanity by the likes of Sgt. Jayson Walter and others. We have a Precinct with a long track record of above and beyond service to our Community. If you see an Officer (or Lt. Dan), take a moment to express some gratitude for thier service. In a world where folks seem to crave news of the failings and etc. of Police Officers, ours continue to shine brightly.
