03/31/2014 9:47 AM by John M
The Partnership for Smarter Growth will join with Virginia Center for Architecture (VCA) and other partners to examine livable communities and the meaning of “livable” in the various localities in the Richmond region as part of the “Livable Communities Forum”:
We will identify areas of revitalization efforts that embrace the principles of livability, and discuss ways in which other communities may apply the principles to increase their economic, environmental, and physical health.
Presentations and discussion lead by:
- Lauren Bell – Programs Manager, Virginia Center for Architecture – The 10 Principles of Livable Communities
- Marcia DuBois – Livable Communities Coordinator, Virginia Department for Aging & Rehabilitative Services – Impact of livable communities on aging and disabled populations
- Lane Pearson – Attorney; former General Counsel and Program Director, Better Housing Coalition – Strategies for creating livable communities in the Richmond region
