Can you help weed, water, and mulch the orchard at Chimborazo Park?

Remember fall of 2012 when the Richmond Tree Stewards, local neighbors and students gathered to plant fruit and nut trees as well as berry shrubs and vines? Well, its time to do some “summer tending” of those plants including weed control, mulching & watering.

The first gathering of this year’s Orchard Helpers (that’s you!) will be Sunday, June 1 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM.

The will be a regular meet-up on the last Sunday of each month. If you can help one or more Sundays, mark your calendar for June 29, July 27, August 31, September 28, October 26, and November 30.

Parking & meet-up is at the end of the cobblestones, past the Chimborazo Dog Park off of Government Road. Bring gloves, weed wackers, rakes & weeding tools (if you have them). Wear long pants, hat, sturdy shoes (no sandals), sun block. Water & snacks will be provided.

Please sign up here even if you are not a Tree Steward or can only make 1 date.
