They are now stealing from babies
07/21/2014 8:48 AM by John M
Ashley is asking you to keep an eye out:
so someone stole my baby’s water table from my back yard! I’m not sure when. It was sometime between last night and tonight. […] My baby really loves this toy. It was a birthday gift from his grandma and his favorite outside toy. I can’t afford to replace it and it really keeps him entertained for hours. I would really like to find this. I know it’s a long shot. But maybe someone saw something. I mean it’s pretty big and idk how someone could just walk off with
Our neighbor had a slide stolen from the empty lot next to us. Apparently they thought since it wasn’t fenced in that it was fair game. So rude.
so, if you see some people walking down the street carrying playground equipment…call the police.
It is time for the community to step-up and stop all this disruptive crime, theft and general stealing. We need to operate on the side mindfull inquiry and calling the police. If you see people walking down the street with stuff that could have just been stolen – call the police and let them ask the hard questions, – but call for goodness sake! We need to stop this petty crime and criminal activities.
Citizen involvement and the eyes of everyone would greatly help slow if not stop some of this criminal activity….
You all might want to talk to “Rita” on this one- Like the bike incident; she believes “if it wasn’t locked or secured, you gave it away!!!”.
Just keep in mind this is the mentality of SOME people around here…. Not just the people WHO steal, but evidentially THEIR neighbors who support them stealing…Sad, Sad, Sad
Hi – I’m a reporter with TV8 and am hoping to do a story on this tonight. Is Ashley (or anyone else who’s been affected) available for a quick on-camera interview? My phone number is 804.356.3353. Thanks.
and never ever buy something with questionable origins like this.
I’m so sick of this crap. People need to be caught in the act and made an example of.
We just had a potted plant taken off of a wrought iron holder that was attached to our front gate. I went to water it and it was gone. Within this past year someone took a flat of flowers I hadn’t planted yet and best of all took some I had actually planted straight out of the ground. I mean we ponder who does this kind of thing.
Who, exactly are ‘they’?
Simply put, “they” are whoever is stealing all the bikes and other stuff.
zookeeper, possibly landscapers? Lowlife in any event who doesn’t respect another person’s property.
u move into an area where there are low income individuals and some of them STEAL, as well as individuals that may have a substance abuse problem. But they can’t take anything as easily if it is secured. I’ve had things stolen off of my porch and toolshed so I took the proper precautions and so far it is working.
Low income… I’m low income (in America at least) how about NO INCOME!!!! individuals in my area of Church Hill, Chimbo and M Street are literally there all day everyday. And I’m not talking about the AARP crowd either… Im young strapping men and women who should be gainfully employed or searching at least just sitting around all day walking up and down blocks to the corner store. It’s unreal.
Im sorry but I cannot wait for more educated and economically dependent individuals to move into the area. Church Hill has come along ways in a decade and we’ve got just a bit further to go to make this a more hospitable and habitable area!
Gosh…my bicycle was stolen from our family garage in 1986, in a relatively decent neighborhood. Are we all going to h@&& in a hand basket? Stuff happens, today as it did years ago. We have the privilege of living in a lovely, historic neighborhood. Keep your valuables safe where they belong and stop whining.
